What you'll do

We will meet at Ella to start the experience. Together, we will go to the Udawalawe National Park located in the Sabaragamuwa and Uva province of Sri Lanka. Firstly, we will visit the Park Office where we will purchase the necessary entrance tickets to enter the park. Afterwards, will start exploring the park and its wildlife. First we will journey in the grass lands of the park. Afterwards, we will make our way through the marshlands of the park en route to visiting the Udawalawe Lake. After exploring in the perimeter of the lake, will then make the journey back to the Park Entrance via a similar route and will finish the tour once we reach the gate.
Other things to note
Please note that the park issues separate entrance tickets to enter the park as it is a national park and a major wildlife reserve. The entry fees are US$ 35.00 for 1 person, US$ 25.00 per person for groups of 2-4 and US$ 20.00 per person for groups of 5-6 and above.

I have been working as a travel guide for over 25 years now, helping travelers explore and experience Sri Lanka in a hassle-free, safe and fulfilling manner. Over the years, with the help of guest feedback, I acquired the expertise to create curated experiences.

During my many adventures, I met Ruwan, a safari naturalist-guide working for the Udawalawe National Park. Together we have been conducting experiences inside the park for well over 5 years now. It is a must-see attraction for any traveler visiting Sri Lanka. The park is famous for its animal sightings but it is important to tour the park with an experienced naturalist to understands its true ecological and biological value.

I have curated this experience to ensure maximum convenience and am positive that you will enjoy a rewarding and unforgettable experience.

Where you'll be

We will be visiting the Udawalawe National Park during this experience. The park is one of the most prominent bio-diversity hotspots in Sri Lanka and is renowned for both its biological importance as well as its ecological importance. The park is popular among tourists as a habitat for small groups and herds of wild elephants and indeed the park is the only location in Sri Lanka that guarantees encounters with the majestic beasts.
