What you'll do

You'll experience baking bread with a wood oven made of soil called an earthen oven. I'll teach you how to cut the bamboo growing in the mountain and to use it as a handmade dripper that we will use to make coffee. We'll enjoy the coffee slowly with our bread and its light scent of charcoal. We'll eat miso soup made from the miso made at the cabin, the bread made with natural yeast, and the coffee we made with our bamboo dripper—all while experiencing the atmosphere of the hidden villages of ancient fallen warriors.

I'm a nature activist; I love DIY—do it yourself—and cooking with natural materials. I have worked with a company for a long time in environment-related work. I feel that it's important to put one's self in nature in order to develop feelings about caring for nature. I hope many people get to know the environment of Japan's oldest Satoyama zone through this nature experience. The earthen oven and everything else there have been made by hand with the materials that exist there.

Where you'll be

We'll be in the mountains of Tokyo and will climb for about 10 minutes before we reach the log cabin with the earthen oven and bamboo grove. Once there, we can hike on a path for about an hour to take in the views and the vegetation that grows along the mountain ridge. We can also visit the agricultural fields.。
