Liliana was a great host!!! I signed up being skeptical of Airbnb Experiences as a whole, but Liliana was so amazing and so kind. She explained to us how she started buying for her restaurants at Peixaria Centenário and then introduced us to her friends Felipe and Tania who showed us how to cut the fish. We went over how to choose the freshest fish, and what constitutes a fresh one versus an old one, which was really cool to do. We also had the option of keeping the fish we cut, but unfortunately I had to decline for lack of a stove. Afterwards we went next door to taste various kinds of canned fish and were also taught about the history of Portugal's fish canning industry which was really amazing. The canned fish store is also partnered with the Portuguese Association of Seafood Canning Industries, so it was really great to hear about each individual company from s place that had an amazing amount of credible information. Overall, I'd give it 5/5, definitely a fun thing to do if you've got some time to spare in the afternoon.
