What you'll do

We will meet up at Liskeard train station. This is where the experience begins and ends. From there we will run through Cornish lanes and hamlets for around 4.5 miles before we enter woodland. From here the route is mainly on trails. We'll follow woodland tracks as we head south towards the coast. Look out for deer which are common in this area. We pick up the West Looe river and run along woodland paths adjacent to the river bank. The scenery here is stunning. Heron are usually visible, along with and occasionally Kingfishers. We finally reach West Looe, where we will cross over Looe bridge to rest up and refresh at the Globe Inn which is just across the road from Looe train station. From here, trains leave to Liskeard hourly. The half-hour train journey is described by Scenic Rail Britain as "full of beautiful views from picturesque valleys teeming with wildlife to impressive views of the estuary."
The run from start to finish is just over 14 miles with around 1,500ft of elevation, takes between two and three and a half hours depending on pace. Shorter or longer routes are available on request. Please ask.

I'm a passionate and experienced runner, having completed several marathons and ultra-marathons. I've lived in Cornwall most of my life and love being outdoors and in nature. Most of my running I do on the trails of south-east Cornwall, and am keen to share my knowledge of local trails with others to allow them to experience the beauty that this part of Cornwall has to offer, and to access trails that are hard to follow without local knowledge.
