I’m a photography, history and coffee buff and design my tours to highlight all of these passions.

I love coffee, not only the beautiful smell of the grounded beans, also the history, science and culture of it, compare to traditional and new ways to brew and serve it.

If you enjoy drinking coffee, trying different types of it and want to know more about what is coffee, (just like I do) this tour is for you.

I live in Kadıköy Moda, the center of local life and coffee shops in Istanbul. And this tour is also in the same area. So I do the tour in my neighbourhood and take people to these local coffee shops me and my friends go regularly.

Ilkin was wonderful! He really educated us about the history of coffee in Turkey (and the world), the difference between coffee beans, grinds and brews, introduced us to coffee alternatives. (I don’t want to give away the whole story!) We definately walked away caffeinated 😊

This experience with Ilkin was really amazing! He was a really great tour guide who could not only answer all our questions regarding coffee, but everything else too. The coffee was delicious and the places we visited were really special. He did everything so that the tour was perfect for us. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

An absolutely wonderful tour of the Asian side of Istanbul with insights into local culture, the history of coffee both in Turkey and worldwide, and the chance to try several varieties of coffee both traditional and modern. If you're even remotely interested in coffee, this is a tour worth booking. Host is extremely personable and is super familiar with area.

I absolutely recommend the tour! It was very interesting and I learned a lot. But the main points are of course getting to know good coffee places recommended by a local person and drinking good coffee and other drinks. Time flew by...

Me and my friend absolutely loved the time spent with Ilkin ( it’s even hard to call it a tour, as it was much more) Lots of interesting information, great coffee, cool trendy places in a less touristy part of Istanbul. Would recommend the experience and looking forward to join Ilkin for another Istanbul exploration.
