What you'll do

I'll meet you at The Poet at Matfield at 11:30am. After getting to know each other a bit we'll begin the workshop, working through the teaching I've prepared which covers the following:

- A little photographic theory
- Lighting
- Camera Settings and Processing
- Composition and more
- Top Tips & Q&A

Through the workshop you'll enjoy a 3 course set-menu lunch brought to you by the most talented team at The Poet (an example of which can be found here: https://thepoetatmatfield.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/09-11-19-New-Set-Menu-2019-Winter.pdf). The Poet is a much-loved institution locally, renowned for it's fine dining in a relaxed, charming atmosphere. See their website to get a flavour of the food you'll enjoy: https://thepoetatmatfield.co.uk/

The workshop is designed for those who are beginners when it comes to photography, perhaps you have a DSLR but always shoot on 'auto' mode, or only ever shoot on your phone and want to take your photography to the next level. The classes are deliberately kept small to make sure you get as much 1-1 attention as possible.

We will aim to finish by 2pm, by which time you will have imbibed a lot of photographic knowledge, gained hands-on experience, advice and critique on your food photography and enjoyed some spectacular food.
Other things to note
The experience includes a 3 course meal and 1 coffee/tea, but does not include other drinks except for tap water. It only runs on Tuesdays from 11:30 - 14:00

Being a Foodie and an at that, it was important for me to get to know my camera and how to tell the story by being able to take amazing pictures. Jason was brilliant throughout and the concept of photographing each course you ate over lunch is a brilliant idea away from a classroom lesson. Jason is very competent and easy to get on with and understand. We certainly learnt a lot and hope to learn more from him in the future. It was an excellent experience and we would thoroughly recommend Jason and his course.
