What you'll do

Bring your own Harry Potter book to my shop and I will guide through the entire process of creating a custom made archival slipcase for your Potter book that will convert Harry Potter into an book that looks like it came just off a back shelf of the Hogwarts Library, and the slip case will preserve your book to hand down for many generations. You will learn how to measure your book, cut binder board and assemble the pieces, cover the book in special artistic papers that gives a centuries old look to you book. You will have the opportunity to add colors or pigments to your finished case that makes your case one of a kind. You will use hot stamping equipment provided by us and genuine gold leaf to make and apply titles on the spine. You will be able to take your project home with you at the end of the class. If a couple attends, each can do a different Harry Potter. If you don't have your Harry Potter book with you, don't worry, we have extra copies here that you can use for a template, make the slip case, and take it home and use it with your own Harry Potter copy.

By far...the BEST experience I have ever had. Unique, knowledgeable, engaging, welcoming, are just a few of the words I would use. I can't express how amazing this experience was. I learned so much from David! Not only about creating the book casing listed in the experience, but book restoration in general. If you're a bibliophile, this is the experience for you. I had been really looking forward to this experience and it did not disappoint. Truly, truly...FANTABULOUS!

David, my apologies for the delayed response. My wife and I did this experience for Valentine’s Day date. My wife is a huge Harry Potter fan, and I wanted to do something special. David was phenomenal throughout the experience, his expertise and passion showed through his actions and storytelling. He went above and beyond for us, and taught us everything we needed to know about bookbinding. He even gave us extra material to try it at home. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone that’s looking for a fun date night, new adventure, or simply learn more about bookbinding.
