We'll be at the Erawan Waterfall, perhaps one of the most famous waterfalls in Thailand. It's located in Kanchanaburi, which is around 3 hours' drive away from Bangkok. With its 7-tiered beauty, Erawan Waterfall always captures the attention of travelers, foreigners and locals alike. Only a few hours away from Bangkok, Erawan Waterfall is perfect for a relaxing day trip by nature. Here, you can also picnic, and swim in the cool, clear water!

This was a great experience- we loved it when we got to the waterfall, however it was a very long way from bangkok so be prepared for a long journey!

The day prior to the trip my host, Taro contacted us to confirm again the pickup time. He arrived on time and waited for us. From the first moment onwards he was really friendly and welcoming. We drove with his car (clean and comfy) to Kanchanaburi. We had lunch with an incredible view, not only was the lunch included but Taro also had water for us during the whole trip. Taro told us about the most beautiful levels of the waterfall (as there are 7 in total). We decided to hike up until the last level. Due to humidity it was not always easy, but the feeling afterwards was really rewarding. We highly recommend to wear sneakers that can become a bit muddy and wet. It can be slippery, so don’t go only with Flipflops. After the hike we rewarded ourselves with a swim on level 4 and slided down the rock! It was a lot of fun :slightly_smiling_face: we headed back to Bangkok and felt always safe during the drive. Taro was also very flexible and extended the stay at the waterfall. We got again some snacks for the way back! In a nutshell: it was a great experience!

Boat, our host, picked us up from our hotel lobby and we began our journey westward to Erawan. He was super accommodating and flexible. We mentioned that we’d like to see the Bridge Over River Kwai if there was time, and he took us there first. He bought us a local fruit called Pomelo to try, which was delicious and refreshing. Then we went to the falls and had a local lunch at one of the places near the entrance, then he hiked with us the whole way to the top. He took lots of pictures of us and seemed to be as excited as we were to be there. The falls themselves are absolutely gorgeous and I’m so glad that we booked this trip. When we came back to the bottom he bought us a local snack called Thai Khao Lam, which was also quite scrumptious! All n all, this was a fabulous way to start our visit to Thailand!

We had a fabulous day! It was very educational and eye-opening. What really make the experience amazing was the Erawan Waterfalls. Absolutely breath-taking and one of my favorite things we did in all of Thailand. My host was very easy going and flexible the whole day and let us take our time without feeling rushed. We were picked up at our hotel which was super convenient! My family and I had a lot of fun! The waterfalls were absolutely stunning! My host was super knowledgeable, friendly and very thoughtful! I was a solo traveller wanting to see Erawan Falls. ‘Boat’, my host, collected me from the hotel and on the way we diverted to The bridge over the river kwai which was a great bonus. The dinner was great and the falls were stunning. We climbed all 7 falls and Boat provided information and facts about Thailand throughout the day. It was super fun experience! Highly recommended! I had a wonderful day!!
