What you'll do

In this experience, you will make sketches and handmade crafts at the shared house I manage in the Hongdae neighborhood of Seoul. We'll meet at HongIk University Station, Exit 6—Airport Line—and walk five minutes to the house. I'll show you my studio—Artvill Studio—as well as the shared house and the workshop. You can experience how we live in a shared house, and meet my friends who stay here. We'll talk about the art of living together, and I'll show you samples of the objects I will teach you to make. Before arriving at Artvill Studio, you will have chosen in advance one of three objects to make: a soy candle with dried flowers; melt-and-pour soap with Korean style lucky bag molds; or a souvenir postcard drawing with watercolors and pens. When we're finished, we'll let things dry and eat Korean snacks with tea. I'll teach you how to look cool and how to improve your artistic skills. At the end of the experience, you'll take home your finished piece in a cool package. Remember the beautiful memory of being with me at Artvill Studio, Seoul, South Korea.

Juyeon

I've been studying art university since 2011, and I have a bachelor's degree in art(2014) and a master's in art theory(2018) at Seoul. I worked in a guesthouse for females from 2013 to 2015. Now I manage a shared house for females, and run a workshop making handmade objects. The shared house is a new kind of housing culture in South Korea. I want to show you how to live in Seoul and how I put my artistic talent into living culture. My slogan is "Art of Living Together," which means you can live with valuable and artistic friends (or things) at home.
