What you'll do

Unnata Aerial Yoga got its start in artist's studios and lofts in Brooklyn before finding homes in Yoga studios. Those first classes were small and everyone (teacher and students, alike) felt like they were explorers, inventors and creators at the forefront of a movement.
I'll invite you into my own small home-studio, where I can teach you the Unnata method of Aerial Yoga while re-creating for you the feeling of those pioneering days. Classes at my home-studio can hold no more than 3 people, and the intimacy allows for an informal atmosphere, where movement and conversation intermingle - fun and fitness combine.
Unnata Aerial Yoga interweaves use of a low-hanging, fabric trapeze into a classic mat-Yoga class. You'll basically get an assistant (the hammock) to help you throughout the class. You'll be able to remain balanced, stay in positions longer, easily access inversions, and be cradled in a cocoon which will melt your stress away.
You'll feel more like you're playing a game than drudging your way through a work-out! And after class, I'll make you a cup of tea.
Other things to note
The studio is on the 3rd floor of a walk-up building. There is no elevator.
Because this is designated as a fitness activity, you will be expected to sign a release waiver in order to attend class. I can send you a copy of the waiver ahead of time, if you like.

I'm the Founder of Unnata Aerial Yoga, a method of Yoga that integrates use of a low-hanging fabric trapeze integrated into a traditional mat-Yoga class. Unnata was the first "aerial yoga" class offered in New York City, and I've been teaching classes continuously since January, 2006. I've traveled to numerous US states and countries around the globe to teach Unnata Aerial Yoga, and to train Yoga teachers how to teach Unnata Aerial Yoga. Even though Unnata Aerial Yoga has a world-wide presence, our organization and community of teachers remains relatively small and intimate. We prioritize quality, standards, safety and authenticity (to classic Yoga) over rapid growth.
