About your host
I am an outdoorsy and outgoing designer, Jeep fan, and avid traveler. I am also a search and rescue volunteer, and I spend many weekends camping in the mountains or exploring other places around Mexico and abroad. Originally from Puebla, Mexico, I have lived in the United States and now live in Mexico City. Being in touch with hikers, campers, and travelers from around the world, I enjoy learning…
What we’ll do
We'll drive in a Jeep to the Izta-Popo Zoquiapan National Park, which encompasses two of North America's tallest peaks—one, an active volcano. If the weather is clear, we'll have amazing views and scenery on the way there. Upon arriving at the park entrance, called Paso de Cortés—where Hernán Cortés trekked into ancient Mexico City—we will stop to view the Popo from the observation point. Next,…
What else you should know
As lunch is the only thing not included, bring some cash to buy food from the local vendors. Bring sunscreen and warm clothes—it's an open-top Jeep—and be ready to have fun.

What to bring
Makes sure to bring cash for local food, and whatever extra drinks and souvenirs you want. Also, bring a warm jacket and sunscreen. A camera is also very recommended.
Warm clothes are a must! If you have fleece or wind jacket, even better.
Sunglasses and sunscreen will also help you enjoy the experience even more.
Hiking boots or running shoes are the best for this activity.
Avoid denim or wool (if we catch rain these types of clothes become heavy and dry very slowly).

Where you'll be
We'll be in Izta-Popo National Park, home to the Popocatépetl volcano and Iztaccíhuatl peak, and a landmark of Central Mexico with breathtaking scenery, particularly in the following places: Paso de Cortés—midpoint between the two peaks and entrance to the park with the Visitor Center and observation point to Popocatépetl; La Joyita—base camp to the Izta summit; and La Joya—the west face observation point of Izta and trailhead to the summit.
Things to keep in mind
Cancellation policy
Any experience can be cancelled and fully refunded within 24 hours of purchase.
Communication policy
Always communicate through Airbnb. To protect your payment, never transfer money or communicate outside the Airbnb website or app.
Guest requirements
Up to 3 guests ages 14 and up can attend.
We will be traveling in a Jeep, so comfort is limited. Keep this in mind since we are traveling on a dirt road over 3000 meters—9000 feet—above sea level. Bring warm clothes for the road, as well as sunscreen…
Government ID
You’ll need to take a picture of yourself that matches the photo on your ID. This is so Airbnb can confirm who’s actually going on the experience. You’ll only have to do this once.
