What you'll do

We will meet for a take away cup of coffee at a worldwide-acclaimed coffee shop. Then we'll head off on an unbelievably scenic drive with a few stops to visit an endangered penguin species at Boulders, see the most South Western Point of Africa, and climb the tallest cast iron lighthouse in South Africa known as Slankop Lighthouse, standing 33 meters tall OR do the Chapman's Peak drive. While visiting these attractions, my colleague and I will unfold the area's deep history and tell you some great stories of how Cape Town was born, and how it developed into what it is today. Please note, if Chapman's Peak drive is closed, an alternate route will be taken.

What's included

I was born and raised in Cape Town, and I'm extremely passionate about its history and beauty. Every day I drive through this beautiful city and interact with its people, and this makes me even more passionate about it. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with every individual, and I try to give each visitor a deeper sense of understanding of what they are seeing, as well as experiencing. My co- hosts, Raheem and Redhaa who has both been in the industry for more than three years and are both locals as well as qualified guides, will conduct the experience in the event of me not being able to.

Where you'll be

We'll visit the naval town of Simon's Town before we move on to the Boulders Penguin Colony—home to the endangered African Penguin where you'll get a bit of insight about these beautiful creatures. Cape Point will be next, where a funicular tram will take us up to the old lighthouse to see Cape Point and we'll hear some interesting stories on the trip. Our last stop will be at Slangkop Lighthouse OR Chapman's Peak (if open) before heading back.
