What you'll do

Hello! I'm Peter, I'm an Oxford University graduate who has lived, studied and worked in the city. If you want a unique and personal tour of Oxford, I'm here to help. I can give you the dramatic history of the city and the university, I can show you the most famous buildings (and give you a first-hand account of what really goes on inside), and can let you in on secret student traditions and rituals that even many guides don't know about themselves.

I'll give you an insider perspective on how the university actually works, tell you what certain well-known Oxford graduates got up to before they were famous, and help you understand how this bizarre and wonderful place came to be what it is today.

I'll also take you to the best, tried-and-tested photo spots, answer any questions you have, and give you a boat load of recommendations. How to find Oxford's hidden pubs? Where to get the best cream tea? Where to get the best chips? Where to get the best scotch egg? I have consumed considerable calories over many years to bring you these recommendations.

This is an exclusive small group tour, so if you want more about a particular subject, whether that be about cuisine, or about how Oxford's admissions and interview process works, just ask along the way.

It was an amazing experience to get to know Oxford. Also, Peter was great at communicating and flexible to change time a bit as per the request which I really appreciated. I'd highly recommend!

I did this tour in a small group and was really happy with my choice. Peter has extensive knowledge about Oxford and its history, and he is an amazing storyteller! The history really comes alive during the tour and it’s almost a dramatic enactment of what happened but through stories. Peter really has a great way of connecting with the group and making also sure we are all happy and comfortable. Lots of walking but lots of stopping too to see particular monuments and places. I’d definitely recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in Oxford’s history with a pinch of laughs and great stories :).
