What you'll do

Leaving from Alcantara harbor, we sail down to Belem Tower, from where Portuguese sailors left for discovering the World. Jeronimos Monastery, Monument of Discoveries, Coaches Museum, MAAT and Belem Tower, are located there.

Then we sail up to the picturesque and colorful Alfama, the amazing old town, passing by the wonderful Commerce Square, Sé and St George's castle.
We will give explanations on sites, as we pass by.

While sailing, you can roam around, enjoying a sparkling wine and our very appreciated nibbles. Plenty of sparking wine.

We always do our best, for hoisting sails on every tour.

We had 250 sunny days, average, in the last five years.

Expect to join a small group, even though, we can go up to eighteen guests (Full boat tours are the most fun! Believe me.)

Please inquire for single travelers.
Other things to note
Bring protection against sun and wind.
Please send a message for last minute booking. We're flexible!
Please inquire for private tours. We have plenty of options and special prices, from 7 guests.

Started sailing in Cascais when I was 8 years old, on small dinghys and later on my father's 52 feet wooden black ketch, the boat of my youth.

In 2007, I recovered a traditional sailing barge and started racing in the Tagus river. Wrote a book on the subject ("Canoas do Tejo" in 2009)

In 2010, I brought Halcyon I to Cascais, from the Algarve, and started a two years recovery on a shipyard in Seixal and on the anchor.

After realizing Cascais wasn't the best place for boat tours, moved Halcyon I to Lisbon and started doing historical boat tours.

I live on bord and usually sail with Helena or one of my two sons.

Where you'll be

We'll go down river to Belem neighborhood, where main Lisbon monuments and museums can be seen. We'll pass by Christ the King statue and under 25 April's bridge (Lisbon's Golden Gate bridge). Most of Lisbon monuments and museums are located in this area.

Then we go up river to Commerce Square and Alfama, the old town.

If you do anything during your time in Lisboa, you need to do this. Luis and his team were amazing story tellers that taught us about the history of the region. The boat was beautiful and he took us around to many picturesque (aka instagrammable) locations. 10/10 highly recommend!

Fantastic cruise on the river on beautiful old wooden sailing yacht. Great experience to see the city from the water side. We had some nice champagne and fingerfood while sailing in such a relaxed and exclusive atmosphere. Luis explained the highlights of the city and we enjoyed every single second on the yacht. Priceless! Best experience ever.

The boat trip with Luis and his boat Halcony 1 was wonderful! You will drive on a wooden ship, not the usual touristic boats and get to see everything you could from the water. He can tell you almost everything about the buildings and monuments and answers your questions. You will also get sparkling wine and some appetizers. It was a beautiful tour that we highly recommend especially if you want to be on a ship but a little more private and not so touristic! Thank you Luis for the trip and also your recommended restaurant, fish was great!
