What you'll do

This is a great tour for small groups who want a private, luxury experience. My calendar is flexible so please contact me if your preferred date is not listed. You will discover an amazing range of wines across four winemaking sub regions. I will pick you up from the Frankton area in Queenstown at 9.40 am. We'll drive via the Cardrona Valley to a winery overlooking the stunning scenery at Lake Wanaka for our first tasting of the day. We then head to Bendigo following the Clutha River and taste distinctive wines at a vineyard in terrain that differs markedly from our first stop. We then follow the shores of Lake Dunstan to our next two wine tastings. These take place amongst the historic workings of the gold rush era in the Bannockburn region where a platter lunch can be booked in advance on your behalf with expenses payable by you directly to the cellar door. We can also stop for a BYO packed lunch at the riverside in the historic town of Cromwell. We then head up the Kawarau gorge towards the Gibbston and our next tasting where the vineyard is at one of the most awe inspiring settings in the world. At the end of the day you will have discovered 5 boutique vineyards and learned more about the diversity of wines in Central Otago. On return to Queenstown and you will be dropped off at the pick up point. I am also a photographer and will take pictures of your day free of charge.

Greg

I lived in the UK and Australia and left the corporate world to live in one of the most beautiful places on the globe. I first came to this area over 20 years ago and have been visiting the wineries here for over 7 years. Now that I live in this region I have the opportunity to share with others my interests in wine, the outdoors and photography. I discovered the nuanced charm of Otago pinot noir 10 years ago and have met a number of amazing people who were drawn to practice winemaking in this magical place. This wine tour and tasting experience allows me to combine all three of my passions and create a unique and memorable day out for you. I am also a fully licensed and insured transport operator and passenger service driver.
