What we’ll do

We will meet at the Washington State Ferry Terminal in Seattle and board a ferry to Bainbridge Island with stunning views of the busy port of Seattle, Puget Sound, and Mount Rainier. Then we will drive to scenic Hood Canal which has pristine shellfish habitat. The timing of our experience will be based on that day's tides. You will need to wear or bring knee high boots, warm clothing, and rain gear. I recommend a knapsack. Don't forget your shellfish license.

Snacks I will provide granola bars. There will be time to eat in the cafeteria on the ferry or purchase other snacks if you wish.

Where you'll be

After our ferry ride across Puget Sound, we will drive across Bainbridge Island to the Kitsap Peninsula and through lush forest to quaint Port Gamble, just a few minutes from the the northern shores of Hood Canal where we will dig our clams. Our driving time will be about forty minutes each way.
