What you'll do

On this day trip to Lake Titicaca, we will be visiting two iconic islands - Uros floating islands and Taquile. The tour would offer you an extensive understanding to the life of the people on these islands and how well they have preserved their culture and traditions for hundreds of years.
We will start with a visit to Uros floating islands where you will have some time to interact with the locals and get an insight of their daily life, culture and traditions. People here are famous for handicrafts. They will be happy to demonstrate their work and you may buy if you desire to. You will also be visiting their huts which are built entirely of totora straws on this man made floating islands of Uros. Optionally you can even ride the totora boat which the locals exclusively use for special occasions.
We will then sail to Taquile islands. Taquileños are known for their fine handwoven textiles and clothing, which are regarded as among the highest-quality handicrafts in Peru. Knitting is exclusively performed by males, beginning in early boyhood. Women spin wool and use vegetables and minerals to dye the wool to be used by the community. Women are also the weavers of the Chumpis, the wide belts with woven designs worn by everyone in the community of Taquile.

Here we will stop for lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the lake and later in the evening we will sail back to Puno.
