What you'll do

We'll gather in my charming mountain kitchen, 3 miles from Red Rocks Park for some wake-up coffee then we'll jump right into our cooking class in Colorado's most iconic food, Vegetarian Green Chili and Homemade Cornbread.
Once we're done, we're ready for a beautiful and mildly strenuous, 1.5-mile hike at Red Rocks, arguably Colorado's most historic and magnificent park, as we learn about its topography, history and creation.
At the end of our hike, it's time to share our stories, pictures and the fruits of our labor, as we enjoy our Green Chili, Cornbread and Homemade Cookies or Brownies for dessert.
Other things to note
~ Please let us know if you are a guest at either of our Airbnb properties - Chic Chalet in Idledale or Fir View in Evergreen when booking.

~ We'll provide aprons and all cooking tools.

~ DON'T FORGET to bring bottled water (you can refill it here), a hat & sunscreen for your hike.

I am a Professional Chef, Pastry Chef & Certified Nutritionist, and have taught for 30+ years at the most prestigious cooking schools in the country. I graduated from the Culinary Institute of America with an insane passion for cooking & baking, that in 2000 I funneled into For the Love of Food, a recreational culinary experience company. I've been featured in the Denver Post, Wall Street Journal, Baltimore Sun, Baltimore Magazine and on PBS.
I have cooked for famous folks in the worlds of politics, theatre and music (even making one of their first wedding cakes!) - and am now looking forward to sharing my passion and having fun with you!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time with Chef Diane (and her faithful pets Darcy and Taj?spelling). Diane taught us knife skills and the amazing uses of an instapot (I will buy one when I get home!) while making delicious corn bread and vegetarian chili. Her stunning home with her fabulously eclectic kitchen are envy-inducing. We hiked at the Red Rocks park and heartily consumed our lunch when we returned. We highly recommend this Airbnb experience.

We had a great time with Diane and cute Darcie (her puppy)! We felt so welcome and at home, in her kitchen. Hiking was not bad and very informative! Would book with her again, also check out her airbnbs!!

We loved this experience! The best part was after the hike, going back to the house to enjoy the chili and cornbread we made (which was delicious, btw). She has a wonderful personality and a lot of great stories, plus the view from the house is just beautiful!! We would 100% book with her again. She also has some great Airbnb Stays that I recommend checking out as well!
