What you'll do

This time we would like to give you a tour to the beautiful State of Guerrero, making a traditional bread called “cajitas de arroz” (rice boxes bread) and the traditional peanut shortbreads made at the convents. The rice boxes are indeed, one of the most emblematic breads in Guerrero, and this recipe comes from my great-great grandmother and comes from generation to generation from more than a hundred years ago. My grandpa’s sister taught me this recipe, my aunt Angelita says that the secret of this is to be patient, and I thought that it would be a good idea to share it with you. We will make “cajitas” as local people in Tlacotepec, Guerrero make them, aerating the rice overnights. On the other hand, you will make delicious and traditional peanut shortbreads which were very common in the convents, toasting the peanut and mixing it with butter is a perfect combination.

Sandra

Talking about the Mexican Cuisine is one of the best chats people can have, but what does it mean to me? To me, a proof of love through the senses and tastes that we share in a dish, which guides us to touch someone else´s soul. I remember my grandma selling delicious meals, talking to Oscar Rosas About it, we realized that we have the same fond memories and that is why we decided to start sharing this experience. My name is Sandra Vega Rodriguez, I live in Jojutla, Morelos since 1998. I have taught English for 21 years and cooking for 8 years. I hold international certifications of Methodology, Language Proficiency, a Diplomado in Teaching Spanish as a foreign language and I am a certified trainer by a competence standard as well. Because we think that sharing our love for cooking is part of our traditions

Surrounded by the Cathedral and some other churches of the XVI century and located opposite to Borda Garden and near Cortes Palace, (built in 1531 by Hernan Cortes); if you want to know these historical sites you can just walk to get there.
