What you'll do

We welcome you to our unique Hot Glass Studio. We will show you a behind the scenes look at what it is like to work with hot glass: it is magical! You will have the unusual opportunity to experience working with the glass, and work one on one with one of our highly skilled artists to produce a paperweight to take home. After we are done, we will relax in front of the cozy furnaces and talk about art and life with a cup of tea and yummy snacks from a local bakery. Please wear cotton clothing and closed toed shoes. Guests must come back to pick up their glass piece the next day.

Susan

You will be taught by Susan and Andy Magdanz, who has been blowing glass since 1972. He has taught at RIT, The Pilchuck School of Glass, in Seattle, Haystack, and Penland. We are a co-operative artists studio, so on any given day you will see something new being made. We create everything from paperweights and vases, to one of a kind sculptures. We have teachers who just love what they are doing! Amanda Gundy runs our glass school, NOCA. She has been running the school and teaching across the country for several years, and has a huge amount of experience leading students through this process.
