Very few people understand why they like what they like. We think most of us tend to eat and drink out of necessity, doing so in a hurry. We would like to fix that.

We will discuss what's considered a great cup of coffee and why. We will do this by covering some basic concepts about the neuroscience of flavor. Then, we will go through the different processes and ideas on how to brew the best cup of coffee.

Also we believe that coffee is about connection, inspiration, and drive. Some of the biggest changes of humanity have been inspired and fueled by coffee. We strongly believe that now is the perfect time to share a cup of coffee.

Christian: I'm from Venezuela, I love coffee and I'm chemical engineer, specialized in food. I own Privilegium, a company focused on expressing emotions and sensations through flavor. (Located in CDMX)

Elena:globe trotter and coffee lover. I am fascinated by the fact that no matter where I go in the world, I always find a cup of coffee waiting for me. I am on a quest to find out what is it about coffee that connects us so deeply?

Ricardo I'm a judge in Mexico's national coffee competitions and the founder and CEO of Borola Café, one of the most emblematic specialty coffee shops in Mexico City. In other words, I'm a professional coffee taster! You can see more about me in my instagram @ricardo_lopez_x

Ricardo does a great job of explaining all aspects of coffee making, from the texture to the flavor to the smell, and how they interact and what sort of balance you should be looking for

Ricardo was so much fun and energetic. The experience taught me a lot about making a great cup of coffee. But it also transported me to his magical house in Mexico.

Christian was an amazing coffee guide. He doesn't just show you how to brew a perfect cup of coffee but takes you on a journey of appreciating your coffee better. I loved that he took into consideration the equipment available to me instead of persuading me to use something else. And he gave me plenty of room to ask lot of questions!

This course truly helped me better understand the coffee that I drink, and taught me how to brew a perfect cup. I’d say it’s similar to a wine tasting course in the way it educates what to look for in a great cup of coffee. Christian was incredibly informative and engaging. I wish I could’ve taken the course in person to explore the neighborhood in Coyoacan.
