What you'll do
In this online experience, you'll learn how easy it is to make a book with things you have around the house. Once you make one, you'll want to make loads more!
To get started, we’ll introduce ourselves and check to make sure you have everything you need to make your pop out book. Then I'll show you how to create each component of your book.
First, you'll make pages by tracing around a jar lid (or by using a compass, if you have one) and then cutting them out with scissors. I'll teach you how to fold each page so it opens like a flower.
Then you'll learn how to cut the front and back covers of your book. Your covers can be made from cereal box cardboard, the back of a pad of paper, or mat board (if you have it). I'll demonstrate how to cover the covers with paper so it looks creative and "polished.”
For the final step, I will show you how to glue the pages together and install the covers. Voila! A fantastic and unusually shaped little book!
Other things to note
It's best to have an open work space, say 2' by 2' in which to work freely.

Kit is an organized, clear teacher who works well with different pacing within a group. She is friendly and created a nice atmosphere for the group, and did a great job balancing talking and being quiet while we worked. I will definitely seek out more classes.

What an enjoyable way to spend an hour and a half, learn something new and have fun! I really enjoyed the workshop with Kit - she broke all the steps down into manageable pieces and gave plenty of time, making sure everyone had grasped what they were suposed to be doing. I came away with a lovely wee book and the knowledge of how to make more - in fact I made another one the next day as a gift. I'll be signing up for more of Kit's workshops in the future - they are excellent value for money, and most of all - fun!
