What you'll do
In this wonderfully caffeinated experience, follow me through London's history of coffee while we enjoy a tasting experience in London's finest coffee shops.
How was coffee first introduced into the city? Why did people like it? Why was it so controversial? Are there similarities between the 17th century coffeehouses and the ones that dominate our high streets today?
This will be a great experience for both international and local explorers with a love for the drink.
Other things to note
Wear comfortable shoes as we will be walking around a heavily concreted area of London.

Ever since I first had the froth off the top of my Gran's cappuccino, I've loved everything about coffee, culturally and its flavour.
Working as a barista from the age of 16 before moving to London to study History at university, my passion for coffee continued to grow and I just couldn't get enough of it!
I soon realised I just had to pursue coffee as my full-time career, and after writing a dissertation on the history of coffeehouses in Britain, I graduated and now write a leading blog about coffee culture.

Where you'll be
We'll start with a whistle-stop tour around the 'City of London', the financial hub of the Capital. We'll go to see the first ever coffeehouse in London, tucked down a side street.
After this we'll grab a ten minute tube over to the West End, and tucking into a couple of coffees in two of the most popular speciality coffee shops.

We have been on a trip for two weeks and this is by far one of the best experiences throughout it. It was just me and my roommate who are both baristas and she taught us knowledge we would have never gotten elsewhere. Her energy is amazing. Her experience is insane and incredible! She always answered all our questions with a smile. Definitely worth its weight in gold.

Isabelle met us with a welcome like we were old friends and proceeded to give us a great guided tour of London’s history of speciality coffee. Her knowledge is second to none and it was great to hear her passion shining through. We travelled from Bank to Leicester Square and visited 3 great coffee shops and hear about their stories, house roasters and sampled a delicious drink from each and were given a bag of coffee to take away. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip and would do it again gladly! Thanks Isabelle ☕️

I can't recommend this experience enough especially for coffee lovers. You will visit some great independent coffee shops and taste some really great coffee; I'm not a strong coffee person but this experience helped me to try some different coffees rather than my usual mocha! Isabelle is very knowledgeable and is very confident in the tour she gives. To me it felt more like a friends day out rather than a formal tour which for me was perfect as it gave us time to chat and get to know each other whilst still learning about the history of coffee. Anyone considering this tour should not hesitate and book now it is worth it! (Sorry for the late review I must not of submitted previously!)
