What you'll do
We're first going to look at some images so that people get used to seeing how light interacts with objects and people. They will come from familiar movies, TV shows and famous images - spaces you already know, in some cases as well as your own home. This will give us the language we need to talk about light.
We'll review some basic home fixtures and bulbs that can create similar effects. I'll go through some of my favorites on the market and how they can be used in different situations.
Finally, we'll talk about trouble areas and how to address them. Examples include how to highlight a good night view while still being able to read a book on a sofa or how to choose paint for a dark room (no, it isn't always to go lighter.) Guests will have a chance to ask questions about their lighting challenges.
At the end, the guest will be empowered to make the most of their space and light to make their house a true home.
To see some of the films that I've worked on, check me out on IMDB (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0115337/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1) . For some of the staging work I've done, please check out my portfolio on Houzz (https://www.houzz.com/pro/debrozina/__public)

I've been working in the camera department on major features and TV shows for decades. I've watched how actors move on sets, respond to light and how our eyes actually perceive things in different conditions. Some real estate buddies got me consulting on staging apartments for sale that went from stuck to offers within a matter of days. By now, I've consulted on hundreds of houses and apartments.
I love showing people lighting tips that will make a space more inviting, comfortable and functional. My online teaching skills were honed at NYU, and after a few laughs, you'll be empowered with the knowledge you were missing to make your house a home that is just right for you.

Great experience and informative for someone like me with no artistic or aesthetic sense. Deborah kept things interesting and did a great job explaining why some settings look 'off' to the human eye with practical advice on how to fix them. She gave us some ideas for our home that we hadn't considered but made a lot of sense. Recommended.

We learned so much from Deborah! It is not everyday that one gets to interact with a movie making professional with such experience. She first showed us how to read framing and lighting in movies. Then we discussed several of our own projects and got priceless feedback. Deb is a great host and a pleasure to talk to. Highly recommended!

Deborah is a very nice person and a passionate professional! It was super cool to dive into the world of lighting and cinema! Little I imagined how thoughtful and deep it is.
We've learnt a lot about using lights and improving our own video shooting experience. And we will definitely be back when we are ready for a new portion of knowledge))

I loved this so much, I’ve found myself thinking, “maybe I should keep booking this experience so I can talk to Deborah again!”
I kinda want her in my life at this point! I had no idea how immersive this would be.
It’s equal parts film/history/world/your home-light lessons, and absolutely fascinating AND helpful AND unique!

I loved this experience. Deborah has extensive experience working with lighting and I left with a number of great ideas for my place, which is a bit dark in places. I was struggling with a long dark hallway, for example, and she gave me a few suggestions, all of which were inspiring. She brings a lot to the table.
