What you'll do

Jackson Hole, Wyoming is best known for its cowboy culture, dude ranches, world class skiing and Yellowstone National Park. But Jackson's culinary and cocktail scene rivals any cosmopolitan city because the people that live and play here have a passion for the best life has to offer.

We will begin our walking tour at Town Square located in the heart of downtown Jackson with some fascinating local history about how spirits and grit won the West and learn about Prohibition Era Wyoming. Wyoming's first liquor license was not handed out until 1937, but bars and saloons where here long before that and made sure the homesteaders and ranchers had a place to relax and gather for social time.

From there, we will wander away from the better known tourist bars and explore some of the local, smaller bars tucked away on side streets. Jackson's bartenders are known for being passionate about their craft and their generous pours. Drinks may use local huckleberries, sage and other mountain herbs or ingredients. Mountain versions of the classics will win your heart. Wine lovers do not despair, wine selections are vast and I hope you join us.

Our stops will vary based on my ongoing explorations of seasonal cocktails and venue ambiance. My goal is to show you some unique libations in places a little off the main grid and to have some fun.

**Fully vaccinated** My world travels began at 5 years old as the child of an airline employee with parents committed to exposing me to cultures and cuisines. These early years would forever shape me. Throughout my youth, I was tasting street food in Paris, London, Argentina, Guatemala and Brazil and many more. As I matured into adulthood, I started to realize that local spirits and handmade cocktails also told as much a story about the country as the food. Fresh local ingredients combined with local spirits and good company always revealed what passions truly inspired a nation or region. As a traveler, I have always sought out and reviewed unique cocktail experiences. I love to share them with others. Now based in Jackson Hole, WY these pursuits continue in the spectacular Rocky Mountain West.

Where you'll be

We start our crawl at Historic Town Square. This square has been the heart of Jackson Hole since the 1800s and where our walking tour will start. We will see some historic old photos of what the square looked like in the 1800s when cowboys and steer roamed downtown and learn about the libation culture that has helped define this western town from its inception and through the prohibition era.
