6:00pm - 8:00pm SESSION 1: Guided Class on Malaysian Sign Language by Certified Instructor @YMCA KL Classroom You'll be welcomed into the Silent World by first learning the basic gestures and signs of the Malaysian Sign Language with a YMCA KL Sign Language Instructor who is also an Actor (Deaf). 8:00 - 9:00pm [FREE TIME] The DeafBeat Crew will arrive after 8:30pm to set up and tune their drums at the Studio @YMCA KL. Because of the free time, we encourage you to take a short supper at our Cafe with each other and practice the Sign Language. 9:00pm - 10:00pm SESSION 2: Immersion Hour with Deaf Beat and Deaf Drumming Instructor @ YMCA KL Studio You will be introduced to DeafBeat, the internationally renowned Deaf drum troupe specialising in Chinese Drums that was featured in Asia's Got Talent. You'll be briefed on DeafBeat's story while learning how they use vibrations, timing and cues to become a dynamic team of Hard-of-Hearing Musicians. This 3-Hour, 2 Session experience into a slice-of-life with Hard-of-Hearing will occur once, fortnightly on a DeafBeat training night which is either Monday or Wednesday. Where you'll be
We will conduct this special immersion within the YMCA of Kuala Lumpur, firstly in a Classroom to learn about the Malaysian Sign Language and then in the Studio where the DeafBeat does drum training.
