What you'll do

Once I know the genre or genres you are interested in and the type of budget you have in mind I will create a tour of ten shops we will visit. Our tour will begin at 10.30am in Solna outside the metro stop at Näckrosen station (15 minutes from Central Station) and we will spend the first hour visiting three records shops in this area before moving back into the centre of town via bus to Odenplan. Here we can visit three more shops - all covering different genres - before taking a quick few stops by bus to St. Eriksplan with its road of excellent vinyl shops. We can also visit the largest second hand record store in Stockholm. This would be a good time to make a fika stop to top up on coffee and buns before continuing by bus to our final shops in the Slussen/ Hornstall parts of Södermalm. In each area we will aim to spend approximately one hour so that there is plenty of time to check out the vinyl selection.

Stockholm has an amazing selection of high quality shops with excellent vinyl and at reasonable prices (especially as it is such a compact city). Let me show you the treasures I have found. Once I know your tastes in music, I will carry out research specific to your needs prior to your arrival. In addition, along the way we can stop for Swedish Fika and you will have the chance to sample excellent coffee and the best choice of Swedish cardamom and cinnamon bun
Other things to note
I have been a teacher for 30 years and I am an audiophile who collects LPs. I have 4,000 LPs many of them bought from the very shops we will be exploring. I am happy to take round people in pairs or small groups and would enjoy helping you to find high quality and well priced LPs.

I have a collection of more than 4,000 vinyl LPs many collected in Stockholm. I have been exploring Stockholm's excellent vinyl record shops and second hand bargain shops for 4 years and I think a day spent with me would enable you to access a fantastic selection of vinyl boutiques!

Where you'll be

Some real bargains are out of the centre and not obviously accessible to the tourist without knowledge of the area. For example, three quite superb - yet very different - record shops are within 5 minutes of where I live in Solna only 15 minutes out from the centre of the city. In addition, we will use buses and our feet to visit vinyl shops on the islands of Vasastan, Norrmalm and Södermalm each with their own unique character.
