What you'll do
In this sketching walk we will visit some special corners in Old Montreal. We will spend some time drawing indoors and outdoors. We will be freely sketching, as well as practising some technical tips that I will offer up. And we will explore various ways how to perceive and express through some exercises. No prior experience necessary. If you've always wanted to try your hand at drawing and see a different side of Montreal, you'll love this experience.
I am a professional painter as of the last 18 years. When I was very young I would watch my dad sketch everywhere he went... in cafés, restaurants, markets. He would just draw whatever was around him. And then I personalized that practised, especially when I would travel. Sketching and drawing is a great way to see the world around you. One tends to not just 'look', but 'see' when sketching. I would be very happy to bring some of my world to your world while you visit the city of Montreal.
Sketch book + HB 2 pencil I will also bring other equipment to loan out, such as pens, erasers, sharpeners and various types…

Where you'll be
Crew Café is a beautiful space with phenomenal coffee and impressive architecture. It's an old bank, with cathedral style glasses, beautiful brass finish and a modern touch. A good spot for meeting and warming the hand up, while grabbing a cup of something. From there we will venture through Old Montreal to get a sense of the neighbourhood, stopping in a few chosen spots for sketching. Charming restaurants for lunch afterwards are everywhere.
