What you'll do
This big day out to the south of Sydney winds through Australia's oldest national park, takes in spectacular coastal scenery along the Grand Pacific Drive, then climbs the sandstone escarpment to return via the forests and farmland of the picturesque Southern Highlands.
Along the way you'll see native Australian wildlife, traverse the iconic Sea Cliff Bridge, enjoy lunch at a seaside cafe - and perhaps a dip in the ocean - and wander through a eucalyptus forest to see a towering waterfall.
You will also sample some of the cool-climate wines for which the region has developed a reputation.
If you are more interested to focus on estate-grown wines and fine dining with regional produce then our new Taste of the Highlands tour might be a better fit for you. You can check it our here www.airbnb.com.au/experiences/1297368

After studying biological sciences I stumbled into tourism and have been a tour guide now for just over 30 years. I spent half that time overseas but I've rediscovered the joy of showing visitors around my own backyard. I founded Local Travel Planner to do just that.
He's Steve too! My longtime tour guide colleague, Steve, has been showing visitors to Australia the length and breadth of our vast island continent for decades. He's also the funnier of the two :-)
We both love showing visitors to Sydney a great day out that combines spectacular scenery, fascinating history, wildlife experiences and good food and wine. Once you've seen our "office" we're sure you'll love it too!

This tour is incredible!! Whether you have a few days or weeks, this is a tour you don’t want to miss!! Super friendly, knowledgeable guides who immerse you in Australian culture, and give you a sense of adventure all while enjoying the charm of this beautiful country. The one on one with the koala’s was a blast, the wine tasting was delicious and the scenic views spectacular.

This experience was an opportunity to go to places we would never have gotten to on our own. The day was packed with many great experiences, some of the highlights were meeting the koalas and kangaroos and the wine-tasting stop. Steve was also super knowledgable and gave great descriptions of the plants and animals we encountered. I'd definitely recommend this tour!
