What you'll do
I pick you up at the meeting point and drive you for about 2 hours till Nazaré town, popular for the big waves, friendly people and dry fish. Time to visit the Fort of S. Miguel Arcanjo, located on the top of the cliff on the side of the Praia do Norte from where we can see the surfers helped by the jet skis or paddling to catch the waves. In the Fort it will be possible to see some of the surfboards used to surf the Nazaré big waves, most are signed and having all the achieved Guinness World Records, from Garrett McNamara in 2011 when he surfed a wave with almost 24 m (78 ft) and more recently Hugo Vau surfed a wave with almost 35 m (114 ft), a room showing how the North Canyon works and other with a photo/video exhibition. From the Fort we'll go to the Sitio neighborhood to see the views over downtown, followed by a delicious local lunch at an authentic Portuguese beach side restaurant. Next will be time to move south to Óbidos, walking and getting to know the streets inside the medieval castle. We’ll not leave town without taste the local famous liqueur Ginja de Obidos (sour cherry liqueur). Return to Lisboa.
The ocean, nature and photography are some of my passions, together with the spirit of adventure that makes me move in the search for new experiences and meet new friends! It’s these passions, the local knowledge and the experience of working for more than 5 years as a General Manager of Ride351 – Surf Trips Portugal, that make me create this experience. I´ll make sure you have the best experience!
