About your host, Katie
A born and bred Londoner and award-winning history blogger, Katie is an Art History graduate who loves showing people the highlights of her city. She has previously worked at the V&A and National Theatre but now runs her own walks to showcase London's hidden history.
What we’ll do
We'll start our day with coffee and cake in the sumptuous V&A Cafe (when it's almost empty!) with a chat through a bit of the museum's history. Then we'll explore the galleries seeing the best of Renaissance sculpture, fashion and shoe design, Islamic ceramics, Indian curiosities and theatrical costumes. As I used to work in the galleries, I know it inside out and can reveal the hidden gems people usually don't find, led by whatever your interests are.
What I’ll provide
Private tour 󷀁
coffee & cake at the V&A 󴀁
Who can come
Guests ages 4 and up can attend. Parents may also bring children under 2 years of age.
Notes
It's a big museum so please bring comfy shoes, photos are allowed so you're welcome to bring a camera too. There is a cloakroom but sometimes the queues are long so it's best to pack light.
Where we’ll be
The Victoria and Albert Museum is the world's greatest museum of Art and Design. With a history of over 150 years it has a collection of textiles, ceramics, sculpture, art and costumes from all over the world. It's located in South Kensington in Central London, close to Hyde Park and designer shops.
