What you'll do

You will love the venture up and over Waterrock Knob to an abandoned plane crash site on the side of a mountain. We will make our way from a tourist filled area to an isolated fir tree filled forest. Not only will we explore the neat crash site but you will have great photography opportunities of the Southern Appalachian Mountains, Cherokee, Ghost Town in the Sky, and the Plot Balsam Mountains. Oh yeah and there are perfect selfie opportunities along the way! Join us for this unique Smoky Mountain adventure!

Brian And Sarah

My wife and I left the big city behind to enjoy the natural beauty of the Smoky Mountains. Our dream and goals are to provide an excellent vacation experience for all of our lodging guests while assisting them with excursions and things to do in the area. We love exploring off-the-beaten-path things to do in the Bryson City area and the opportunity to share them with both our lodging and experience guests! The hike to this plane crash is a road less traveled for sure and few of the visitors to America's most visited national park embark on this adventure.

Where you'll be

We will be emerged in the forest and thick canopy of a 6k foot mountain range for much of this 2.5 mile round trip journey. It's a root, rock, moss, filled hike with little markings that few people venture for these very reasons.
