What you'll do

Known in Japan as Shinrin Yoku, this forest bathing session will awaken your senses and deepen your connection with nature as I guide you through a series of invitations crafted to help us disconnect from our busy minds and lives. Our three hour walk begins with a brief introduction to forest bathing. Then I will guide you through a mindfulness practice designed to get you in touch with your senses and the present moment. Followed by a slow wander through the trees, we will simply notice what is going on around us. Next we will take part in one or two more invitations designed to help us rediscover our connection to nature. We conclude the walk with a tea ceremony and snacks. In between each invitation we will have the opportunity to share about our experience (not mandatory). At the end of the walk we will feel relaxed and rejuvenated and have a renewed sense of awe for the natural world.

At the end of the walk we will sit in the grove and enjoy freshly brewed tea and a snack. Shope Creek is part of the Pisgah National Forest in the Appalachian Mountains.
