What you'll do

Traditional Costa Rican embroidery class: 3 hr workshop. We will see different embroidery stitches that we are going to apply on an tropical illustration. All the points that we will learn are ideal for you to realize your own projects! We'll see: How to transfer the design to the fabric. Different types of fabrics/supports. Types of threads and how to use them. Types of frames. How to finish an embroidery. Finishing and what care it requires. Embroidery kit included: The kit of this workshop includes all the materials needed: Wooden embroidery hoop 6"in. Embroidery scissors. Raw canvas ready to embroider. Mouline threads DMC. Needle and pin. Instructive booklet of points and illustrated materials that we will see in the workshop. Plus: A canvas tote bag so you can take your kit home and continue practicing.

Ana María

My name is Ana Maria. I am 25 years old, I was born in San Carlos and I am Bordar-Bordar. I am a passionate crafty person. I have been teaching embroidery classes in my own studio for two years, and I have recently worked with Centro Cívico por la Paz, teaching embroidery workshops. Bordar.Bordar was born from the idea of teaching and sharing, by creating unique things and empower each other and above all, to transmit knowledge through this technique that has been in my family for generations.

Where you'll be

We will conduct our workshop in our tiny studio, a garden shed is located in a tropical garden and beautiful views, the area in Sucre is surrounded by dairy farms and pastures, it's a beautiful place to visit. It’s a special place to see and experience.

Any experience can be cancelled and fully refunded within 24 hours of purchase, or at least 7 days before the experience starts.

Guest requirements

Government ID

You’ll need to take a picture of yourself that matches the photo on your ID. This is so Airbnb can confirm who’s actually going on the experience. You’ll only have to do this once.

What to bring
