What you'll do

Ready to engage your muscles and indulge your senses? Then come hike the Dundee Hills with me for a unique off-road wine experience. We'll meet at Worden Hill Farm, my family's heritage pig farm, take a quick tour, then head uphill to visit 3 select wineries. You'll stroll through lovely vineyards, down romantic country lanes and along private foot trails with stunning views. At each stop, you'll enjoy gourmet snacks paired to compliment the wines. After 5 miles, with a healthy 500 ft elevation gain, we'll finish our hike happy and content back at the farm. Please note! Each winery charges its own tasting fee ($25) but waives it with wine purchases. This fee is not included in the hike price. You'll spend the day gaining an intimately local perspective of the Dundee Hills as you walk the vines, sample the wines, meet the experts and learn how my home became the epicenter of new world Pinot Noir. Don't worry, you won't have to carry any bottles, wine you purchase will be waiting for you at the end of the hike. I also happily offer a shorter hike with prior notice. I hope you'll find ditching the limo and savoring the terroir slowly, on foot is as sublime a pleasure as sipping fine wine.

Susan

Raised in the Dundee Hills, on the land my husband and I now farm, I bring a deep love for and understanding of the local terroir, wines, and people who make it so special. This hike is my personal counter to the recent onslaught of limo and helicopter tours in my backyard. I'm not a professional tour guide, my experience with Oregon wine began as a teen picking grapes with friends, pouring in tasting rooms, then representing Oregon wines at international wine fairs and in sales for Evening Land Vineyards, and now guiding my own tours. I am passionate about offering guests a greener, healthier, and more enriching way to explore Oregon wine country off the beaten track. Rather walk? Then ditch the limo and follow me through the vineyards. I believe it will be a day well spent.
