What you'll do

I host my guests to Ryogoku, a riverside downtown in Tokyo. It is popular for the home of the sumo stadium called Kokugikan and the place of Sumida River Fireworks Display annually held. If walking the area, we come across the sumo cultures beloved in the local. However, Ryogoku is not only for them to visit. I have this tour well mixed for stopping at recommendable spots and visiting a few sake tasting places. Savoring sake at sake places for the decent quantity each adds to the enjoyment of local walking. Definitely, this tour will not miss Katsushika Hokusai Museum. Hokusai is a ukiyoe, woodblock prints artist worldly famous and he is from the Ryogoku area and spent most of his life there. We get familiar with his works and about him. The area is dotted with the spots related to him. We also come by a Japanese antique, a rice cracker shop and a Japanese traditional footwear specialty shop. The making techniques continued to today, together with the passion and spirits of the craftsmen. On the tour route, there's a Japanese style garden as well. We do origami also. It's the Tokyo style touring fun.

I’m based in Tokyo for tour guiding as a national certified professional. Tokyo attracts me so much to look culture, tradition and new styles growing. I realize it when I extend my way in exploring and find the things I would like to try connecting with the local people. Also, I'm a sake sommelier. I have my monthly outdoor activity class in a culture school as a teacher for walking tours. In the class, we enjoy getting familiar with the local areas for the combination with sake tasting time. It's fun. Let's get active!
