Where you'll be

Visitors will visit my own house, I chosed this specific location because I want them to have a view over a local or Emirati House and how do they normally live as a family and focus more on Emirati women role within the family which they will experience.

Nowhere in Dubai or Abu Dhabi can tourists interact with Emerati women like this. Maitha and her mother welcomed us into their home as if we were family or neighbors - except she very courteously educated us how we as guests should act if we were actually Emerati guests. And they are both fully aware of the stark impact seeing Emerati women at home in attire far more casual than when out in public, even though 2 of the 3 of us were male (**please, please, please DON’T enter Maitha’s home with ANY intent of propositioning her - she is a professional government-sponsored tourism expert/ambassador and offers this experience because she really loves to share her culture with us foreigners. Despite two separate Airbnb guests proposing marriage in the past, she hasn’t terminated this great experience because she has good self-respect and a sense of humor but that kind of behavior may result in her dropping this wonderful experience. Don’t be a jerk.) We not only about rituals of serving coffee, how Emeratis eat meals together, dating/marriage laws and customs, but Maitha even had flash cards at hand with common questions asked of her, to be sure some sensitive or awkward questions are asked. Hands down our most unique Airbnb experience ever.

Maitha is a great host, very welcoming and informative. You can see the passion in her sharing the knowledge of her culture. Definitely recommend this experience for anyone who's interested in Emarati culture.

There is no better tour you could take in the UAE, really. This is just the best way to get to know the country, a place that is too often known only for its towering heights and shiny hotels. There is much more than that, there is a rooted culture and a strong background, and there is no better way to discover it than sitting in a Emirati house with an Emirati family that will make you feel as if you are a member of their family. Maitha and her brother are super kind and knowledgeable, and their mum is simply amazing, with her wide array of old memories and stories from the past, and her sweet smile that never leaves her face. Don’t think twice, just go for it.

Maitha é um amor de pessoa. A visita vale muito a pena. O local não é dos mais fáceis de se achar portanto, vale uma pesquisa com antecedencia. A comunicacao com ela foi ótima. E adorei o jantar.

To be able to interact with the locals in a new country is a really insightful experience, especially when your host is Maitha, who is such a sweet lady to begin with. The whole experience set such high standards of hospitality for me. We got introduced to so many etiquettes and ideologies in life of the Emiratis. The conversations flew from value, marriages, food to scents and the history of the country. It is such an authentic experience and gave me an insight that I would get no other way in UAE!

This was an incredible experience to try authentic Emerati food, learn about the culture, and ask any question I have ever had about the traditions and society. Maitha provided a structured evening but left plenty of room for us to personlise it by asking our own questions or changing the itinerary here and there as we wanted. This, as far as I could tell, is the only cultural tour offered in Abu Dhabi and is well worth the time and money!
