What you'll do

Come and enjoy in the Mallorca countryside and learn about our rich farming culture and Majorcan gastronomy. The experience takes place in a recovered old family farm that belonged to our ancestors.
Upon arrival we will share a small appetizer and an introductory conversation about farming life in the countryside Mallorca, long before tourism arrived on the island.
After this we will take a tour on the farm and you will share a good time with our organic and friendly chickens while we collect their eggs.
Then you will have the opportunity to see and learn how to prepare a "tortilla de patatas" (potato omelette) with freshly collected eggs, and how to prepare a good typical Mallorcan meal such as "Pa amb oli" bread with tomato and oil made with our olive trees. All with calm. Mallorcan products accompanied by a good wine or fresh juice.
In the end we will eat and taste together everything we have prepared, in a relaxed atmosphere, good company and pleasant conversations.
After the activity, if you wish you can spend more time on the farm at your own pace. Sunbathing, relaxing and enjoying the surroundings.
Other things to note
Families traveling with children are welcome, but we ask that they are under the supervision of an adult at all times. If you are bringing children, please let us know.

I was born and raised in Mallorca. After studying and working at University I went to Central America as a volunteer, working on development cooperation projects for a while. Later, when my first daughter was born, I decided to return to Mallorca, quitting my job to devote myself exclusively to motherhood. Mi aim then was to recover this old abandoned family farm than belonged to our ancestors.
My family and I are very committed to value local ecological agriculture and respect for the environment. We love life in the countryside, organic products, travelling, meeting other cultures and meeting travellers from all over the world.
It is a great pleasure for me to share with you our quite lifestyle, good food, good atmosphere, good conversations and show you a little bit of this Rural Mallorca that still remains on the island.

Miquela is the most wonderful host. She has so much energy and passion she shares with her big heart with her visitors. She gives her all. You immediately feel good in her presence. Her generosity is unbelievable. I hope our paths meet again. Highly recommend this experience which in its simplicity is absolutely magical.

Miquela ist eine wundervolle Gastgeberin. Sie hat sehr lebendig über das Leben und die Küche im ländlichen Mallorca erzählt und kulinarische Leckerbissen serviert.

This is the perspective from my 14 year old son. The tour was an amazing experience for all of my family. Ms. Miquela gave us a tour around the whole farm, showing us all of the organic methods they use to grow the plants. Notably, they showed us how they use insects as a substitute for pesticides, and how they supplement tomatoes with calcium by spraying them with milk. Another interest sight was a compost machine, extracting methane gas from food waste, which could be used to cook and heat the house. The hosts told us about the history of island, and the experiences of Ms. Miquela’s father growing up there in the 1940’s. Surprisingly, her father actually visited us during the tour, telling us how he harvested wheat on the farm when he was 13, and how he worked as a tailor when tourists began to arrive. Later in the tour, they took us to the fields and showed us all their crops, all irrigated by one long hose. My brothers got to push around a tractor, and picked many onions, tomatoes, artichokes, and zucchini. I had absolutely no idea what an artichoke looked like, but it was surprisingly purple, much more purple than I had imagined. The best part was the meal ! The day before I order pa amb oli at the beach and ate it like a sandwich. Ms. Michaela showed us the proper way. She taught us that due to hardening of the bread Catalans rub tomato on the bread with salt and olive oil. Then you can add ham/cheese/sobrasada on top. This was probably the most authentic experience I had on the island. Thank you.

We had a warm welcome! We learned about the vegetables. They are growing (all biological) and they told us about living in Mallorca. They both speak English very well. Traditional lunch! Very nice visit! We did not feel like tourists which was very nice.

Moises and Miquela were wonderful hosts. They made us feel like we were at home, while they taught us the history of the island's agriculture and the impacts of tourism and business on the land. We got to participate in some farming activities under beautiful sunshine (we turned the soil with a tractor, planted Stevia bushes for their home, and picked artichokes), and then enjoyed a delicious lunch (it was too big to be a snack!) made of local produce and wine. Both Moises and Miquela went to great effort to answer all of our many questions, which was extremely kind considering we know zero Spanish. They also let us store our bikes, and gave us directions for a beautiful cycling route to get home off the main road, seeing more of Mallorca's beautiful countryside. I had a great time doing something that is not super touristy or cliched, and I look forward to seeing them again.

Miguela and Moises offer a very interesting activity in a hearty and friendly atmosphere. Both, the theoretical information as well as the practical work are fantastic. And over all the two serve a unbelievably yummy meal.
