This experience is part of my French Crepes series, and we'll get to make both the traditional buckwheat crepe and the well known sweet wheat crepe .

First, I will tell tell you where crepes come from and how we eat them in a French household and then we will make both crepes batters and we'll cook them.

Then I will give you many recipes for different fillings which will allow you to make them with fillings that will accommodate everyone's dietary restrictions and preferences.

We will make a delicious filling for your savoury buckwheat crepe with ground meat or mushrooms, tomatoes and cheese.

And finally we'll make a cinnamon filling for the desert crepes!

  • buckwheat Flour 1 cup-125g, all-purpose Flour 1 cup-125g (if you can't find buckwheat use wheat)
  • Milk 500ml-2 cups or VEGAN milk
  • 3 eggs VEGAN no eggs
  • butter 110g-1/2 cup or Vegan butter or oil
  • cinnamon powder, sugar, brown sugar, salt, pepper, oil

What an amazing experience! Christopher was an excellent teacher who made great efforts to personalize our class; it was just my daughter and me and Christopher was especially welcoming and patient. He showed us how to make two different kinds of crepes - buckwheat and “regular” - and explained the history behind them. He walked us through all of the steps and explained everything clearly, and even showed us the gorgeous view from his Paris apartment. We doubled our recipes and have more crepes ready-made in our refrigerator for later; they are delicious and we definitely plan to make them again! Highly recommend.

Crêpes avec Chris, très bien ! My son, Jim, in Shanghai, I am in Washington, DC and Chris in Paris. Breakfast for me, Lunch for Chris, Dinner for Jim. Great feedback before the class and instructions. I was thrilled learning some "tricks" that will enhance my culinary skills but beyond that it was a coming together of cultures, food and a look at Notre Dame out of his apartment window. He does other classes and I look forward to checking those out as well.

This is my second experience with Christopher and it was as amazing as the first one. The recipe was easy to follow and Chris made sure all of us were following along as we navigated thorough the class making crepes for the first time. Both the savory and sweet crepes turned out perfect. Highly recommended!

Super fun! It's okay to laugh at yourself... I certainly did. Chris is quick-witted and can hang with the silliest of us. A fun time for a Covid Saturday night! And, the buckwheat crepes may be a new favorite. Cheers!
