What you'll do

We will meet at the Pegli train station, from where we will head to Molo Archetti to embark on the Navebus that provides the service of connection with the Historical Center, in 30 minutes of navigation from which you can enjoy an unusual view of the Genoa city-port . Having disembarked near the Aquarium, will start a walk in the company of the writer (and my husband) Guido Conforti, who will lead us to special places, where we can experience all our five senses in a unique and very original experiencethe possibility of living in the enchanted atmosphere of his poem "In Genoa I would take you to the sea", winner of the First prize at the Competition "The City of Poets" at the International Poetry Festival 2003. After two hours the walk will end on the heights that crown the city, where on the terraces of Largo Caproni, on the roof of the Zecca-Righi funicular station, I will serve a typically Genoese aperitif to all the participants.

Claudia

I learned to know Genoa and deeply love walking through it, wandering through its streets, its alleys, its little squares sheltered by the wind, discovering little by little the hidden nature of a truly authentic city, "in every sense". The most incredible way I know is to arrive from the sea, then disembark on a few thousand-year-old jetty, cross the Historical Center, getting lost in its narrow alleys and then leaving behind, beyond the Walls and Forts, from where you can enjoy a view incredible. Genoa, "more than this".

Where you'll be

Until the last century Pegli was an independent municipality, a privileged holiday resort for nobles and rich bourgeois. In 2017 Villa Pallavicini, with access next to the station, was awarded as "the most beautiful park in Italy". The Old Town, with the Old Port, is one of the largest and most impressive historical centers in Europe. The New Walls are the second longest wall structure in the world, after the Chinese Wall.

More tips

Guests should know the unique shape of the city of Genoa, stretched for over 30 kilometers between sea and mountains, narrow, squeezed between sea and mountains
