What you'll do
Ths is a chance to experience a sunrise high up at the monument known as Cnoc Fyrish above the Cromarty Firth.
Its a very early start as we need to drive out to the area and climb to the top for the sunrise - but it will all be worth it!
At the monument I will help in you getting the best from your camera and ensure you take some super sunrise shots, we'l then have a picnic of shortbread and coffee.
The walk is around 2.5 hours there and back with time at the top it's normally 3 hours covering around 4km with a challanging 300m ascent. But we take it at your pace and with incredible views the whole way, we stop for plenty of photos as we catch our breath on the way up!
You do need to be prepared for windy and chilly weather, even in summer and it may mean that our picnic is a speedy one, or we have it lower down the hill once we have seen the sunrise. In the case of rain we may not be able to see a sunrise, but the tour will still go ahead.

I moved to the Highlands for the wonderful natural outdoor environment it offered our children. Living now in Inverness it's allowed me to become both a Superhost and pursue my interests in photography and the outdoors. I love meeting people from around the world that stay here, and now I'm able to let them experience a Scottish sunrise standing on one of the many mountains that are right on our doorstep!

Where you'll be
You'll be visiting Cnoc Fyrish, above Cromarty Firth, a huge structure of 3 central arches and 4 flanking towers. It was built in 1783 by Sir Hector Munro the local laird. Returning from overseas the Clearances were underway and many people were starving. As part of the necessary famine relief of the time work was provided for the locals in building the structure for food. It is a replica of the gates of Negapatam, to enhance Munro's glory.
