What you'll do

Join me in exploring St Catherine’s Valley, one of the most enchanting vales near Bath. Featuring rolling fields, country paths and fantastic scenery, this guided walk offers a peaceful escape to a hidden valley and the charming hills of the Cotswolds.

We’ll start the walk at the quaint village of Batheaston near Bath. We’ll first follow the bubbling St Catherine’s Brook and stroll across the bottom of the St Catherine’s Valley. At every twist and turn of the vale, we’ll discover breathtaking scenery of the rolling Cotswold hills.

We’ll then leave the valley behind, climb a very steep hill and wander along country paths. From the top of the hill, we’ll enjoy glorious views of the enchanting vale. Dropping back down into St Catherine’s Valley, we’ll further enjoy the peacefulness and charm of the Cotswold vale.

This circular walk is 5 miles long, takes 2 to 2 ½ hours and includes a very steep ascent and muddy paths. Throughout this walk, I’ll endeavour to share my passion and knowledge of the Cotswolds and St Catherine’s Valley. Not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs. Additional dates available (message me with your requirements).

Hi, I’m Sonia and I’m passionate about walking, exploring and travelling. I’ve been a walker my whole life and an experienced hiker for the past 5 years. I’ve walked through the beautiful British countryside, including the Cotswolds, Somerset, the Brecon Beacons, the Lake District and the Scottish Highlands.

I’ve lived in South West England for over 6 years and I’m now based in the South Cotswolds. I manage the travel website A Dragon’s Escape, where I share tips to explore the wonders of Bath, Bristol, the Cotswolds and beyond.

On weekends, I enjoy escaping to the charming villages, the enchanting countryside and the spectacular scenery of the Cotswolds and the South West region. I now wish to share this corner of paradise with you.
