What you'll do

We will have a drive to a magical quechua village, far from noise and located in a beautiful country site sorrounded by fresh air, green views and a blue lake, where we will be warmly welcomed by the locals with beautiful quechua songs.

In these quechua villages, we can still see people dressed in their typical costumes, an ancient tradition that goes back to Inka days, so we will learn about the meaning of each part of the clothing and the purpose of its use.

Locals will show us their lifestyle, starting with the natural medicine they use, as people from the quechua village does not have acces to hospitals nearby. Also, they will show us the products they farm (organic) for self consumption and its nutritional value.

We will have the opportunity to taste the culinary delights that they prepare in the area with the food they produce on their farmland.

Finally, they will surprise us with a demonstration of organic dyeing of alpaca wool, which they use for their different fabrics, all handmade and with designs from very remote periods, each with a meaning, which has been transmitted for generations and we want to be preserved this way for future generations.

A wonderful morning with these amazing craftswomen, who so generously shared their lives. We learned many things about the traditions of their life. The pick up in Cusco was seamless. Highly recommend this unique experience to get away from the busy city. It will provide an appreciation that will be unforgettable. Janet was an excellent native interpreter and host. The lunch was delicious and authentic. Take the time to learn the culture you won’t regret it.

Please do your heart and soul a favor and book this experience. It was the most nourishing day, everyone in my group (including myself) expressed that they didn't want to leave because it was just so lovely. These Quechua women in their quaint village were so happy, warm, welcoming, and genuinely excited to have us there to share their culture with us. This was such a beautifully curated experience, Jane was an amazing co-hostess and translator. I will be raving about this to anyone visiting the Sacred Valley or Cusco. I'm so happy to have this experience in my memory and to feel the connection to all the lovely souls that I met. You will not regret taking a break from the myriad of tourist attractions to learn about the Quechua culture and connecting with these beautiful women!

Book it now! Seriously - this is a once in a lifetime experience. Jane is an incredible woman whose connection with these Quechua women is very strong. From being greeted with sweet songs to learning all about the genuine lives of these people… it was the highlight of my time spent in Peru. Everything felt extremely personal and the layout of the day was planned to a tee. I felt at home with these women and they made me feel very special. Learning about their beautiful clothes was so interesting, watching them prep organic medicine, dye alpaca wool, and even the lovely meal they prepared was all spectacular. You should not leave Peru without booking this. It is not a class, lecture or like being in a museum. You get to experience something authentic in a beautiful land and leave with a new sense of knowledge you never thought you needed.

Do it. Go. Book the experience. We did a lot of things in Peru, and loved them all for different reasons, but this in particularly was very special. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome, and the connection between Jane and the Quechua village was genuine. I soaked in the knowledge passed along from these wonderful women, and even my ten year old was engaged for almost every second. Anyone with kids knows that says a lot. I left FEELING something. Also with many new treasures that I purchased to support these women as well as enjoy. Such beautiful creations. You won’t be able to resist.
