What you'll do

'A city tour with whiskey in its heart' . This is a private tour for you and your party (big discounts for 2+ guests). A 'Whiskey Specialist Host' accompanies you throughout, visits to Dublin's top whiskey attractions with tastings included. Our meeting point is James Fox Cigar and Whiskey Store at 1:45pm, very centrally located in downtown Dublin. We start with a visit to Irish Whiskey Museum, a very fitting introduction to our whiskey adventure. We join a scheduled tour here and a tutored tasting of 3 Irish whiskeys follows in the bar at the end of the tour. Private executive transport is nearby and you can sit back and soak up the magic of Dublin as your Host brings the city to life. We travel to the original home of Jameson Irish Whiskey and also to Roe & Co, another historical distilling giant of Dublin. We have very special experiences lined up at both Jamesons & Roe. All the time, your Host ‘fills in the gaps’ along the way with the overall Irish whiskey story and LOVES to answer all your questions about whiskey and will share all their tips on great pubs and restaurants to check out in Dublin and beyond. We conclude our trail by dropping you to the door of your accommodations in Dublin City or maybe we can take you to Celtic Whiskey Shop and guide you on some good buys !

My Dad and I share the same the name, John Callely. We share the same pride of country and we have a particular grá (Gaelic for love) for Irish whiskey tourism, an industry that has been good to us over our combined 40 years’ experience. We’re glad to say our name is synonymous with premium whiskey experiences in Irish tourism circles, so much so that we formed Whiskey Island to share these experiences with Airbnb guests. Be our guest, and John Junior or John Senior (depending on which one of us is available) will bring the onetime whiskey-making capital of the world to life!

Where you'll be

Our meeting point is James Fox Cigar & Whiskey Shop which is right across the road from the front gates of Trinity College - it could not be more central! We take you on a little saunter through Dublin after Irish Whiskey Museum to our transportation. From here we cruise down to the whiskey districts of Dublin , old and new, to visit Jameson Distillery Bow St and Roe & Co. We finish the trail by dropping you to your accommodations in the city.

It was an awesome experience! We had a lot of fun and if you have time for just one trip, you should definitely do the Whiskey experience. John is a great host, the event went smooth and he answered all of our questions. Lots of tips for local stuff included. Thanks again!

John is simply A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, the only thing that equals John's talent and passion is the great taste of Irish Whiskey itself, this tour gives you the most complete and rounded overview of Dublin's whiskey industry while giving you just enough historical and cultural background to leave you craving for more and enjoy Dublin even more afterwards. I used to be a tour guide myself and I am still amazed a week later by John's casual and passionate approach, he simply strikes the perfect balance and acts like the perfect "chef d'orchestre" to the numerous places and guided activity we had on the tour. This is not you usual boring tour, this is a severely under-priced VIP experience trough and through TL;DR: This tour is great and the price could be double what it is and it would still be worth it!
