We'll meet inside the entrance hall at Manchester Art Gallery. The art gallery is the perfect meeting spot where we’ll spot a few bees in the gallery. I'll explain the significance of the Manchester bee, Industrial Revolution and Cottonoplois. We'll also look at the gorgeous William De Morgan Victorian tiles. Then we will walk to the Waterhouse Pub to pay homage to the architect Alfred Waterhouse (1830 ~1905) who designed the gothic style masterpiece that is Manchester Town Hall. Walking around the outside of the Town Hall, as it is being refurbished until 2024, we will walk through Library Walk. Here we can see the cotton flower mosaic floor and spot some more worker bees. Onto "Foundation Coffee House” in the Northern Quarter where the workshop will take place for you to make your bee mosaic. I'll have a bag for each of you which will have all the materials you need to make your hexagon bee mosaic. I'll guide you through the mosaic process and technique, sharing my skills and tips on how to make the best bee mosaic. I'm really excited about welcoming you to Manchester, you're going to have the best time. It will be an experience that is unique and I know you'll love.
