What you'll do
The Cuban Revolution is one of the most complex and important processes in Cuban history. In this experience, you will discover the historic context in which the Revolution was carried out and the main results it has brought about for our country. With this aim, we will visit the Revolution Museum where we will get in touch with the main factors that unleashed the revolutionary process. Afterwards, we will analyze the main measures taken by the Revolution in power and their impact on the transformation of Cuba. Later on, we will walk through the Square Trece de Marzo, where I will explain you the operation of the main governmental organizations. At the same time, I will point out the principal attractions around. Then, we will stop for a snack in a cafeteria near the square where we will be able to continue our talk about the Revolution. Before entering the University, I worked as a history teacher in a Cuban high school where I discovered my passion for teaching the subject. Nowadays, I work as an instructor professor at the Faculty of Tourism of the University of Havana lecturing about marketing and destination planning. I have been researching about the Cuban Revolution for years and have a special insight about Cuba’s politics as many members of my family used to work in high politics. My partner Neivy works part time with me in this tour. She has a B.A. in Foreign Languages, and masters not only English, French, and Portuguese languages, but also the Cuban history and politics as well. She works as an Instructor Professor at the University of Havana, teaching Linguistics and Translation Studies.
