Adi

I first visited the village in late 2016 to meet with one of the leaders of their Eco-tourism initiative, which happens to be the tribe name of the natives here, the SEMAI people. From personal experience and alike most of the indigenous people in Peninsular Malaysia, they are naturally shy people. But as we kept the friendship and built trust through a few concerted efforts of organizing trips here, they have slowly embraced us like family. Our Semai friends have helped us achieve our goal of INSPIRING others to travel and adventure while EMPOWERING the local communities we work with! I co-organize this with another Adventure Organizer, Jennyfer! She's of an even smaller native tribe originating from Borneo, the Kenyah people.
