What you'll do

We’ll meet at Cycle Brighton and together we'll explore on electric bikes the picturesque coastline between Brighton and the village of Rottingdean. This easy, two-hour ride takes us past Brighton’s world-famous seafront and iconic Victorian pier, and along dramatic white cliffs to the village of Rottingdean before taking the meandering cliff-top ride back to Brighton. On the way you’ll hear about the history that makes Brighton and Hove so distinctive and intriguing, and you’ll have a chance to peek into the sea-front gardens that inspired Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. We’ll be using electric bikes, so no need to worry, you can ride uphill and into the wind as easily as downhill with the wind behind you.

Stephen & Jane

Jane & Stephen moved to Brighton 25 years ago having fallen in love with the beautiful shoreline and the vibrancy of the Brighton. After enjoying many cycling holidays with our children we decided 3 years ago to follow our passion and set up a cycle hire and tour business in the city we adore. We love to share our enthusiasm for Brighton with visitors from around the world and enjoy the experience on every tour of rediscovering our city through new eyes.

Where you'll be

This scenic route follows the striking coastal cycle path eastwards to the picturesque village of Rottingdean. On route you will sail by the majestic Hove Seafront, the famous Brighton Pier, and Brighton Marina. At Rottingdean we will visit Kipling Gardens where Rudyard Kipling lived from 1897 to 1902. Kipling rented the house for 3 guineas a week and it was here that he wrote Stalky & Co, Kim and some of his famous Just So Stories
