What you'll do

If it's Raining (Always a possibility in Devon)
We will meet outside the entrance to the Pier in Teignmouth. From there we will walk towards Eastcliff (3 minutes) where there is overhead shelter. Be prepared that in Winter it may be cold. So wrap up warm! We will follow a similar itinerary as below, but based in Teignmouth.

If it's sunny and warm.
10.00am - 11.00-ish
We meet outside the Ness Hotel in Shaldon (across the river) and stroll down the Smugglers Tunnel to reach one of the most beautiful beaches in Devon. There, we will run through a sequence of easy-to-learn Energy Breathing Exercises to get everything flowing in the presence of waves, cliffs, and the incredible fresh sea-air.

11.15- 11.45-ish
We will then stop for a mid-morning tea/coffee overlooking the sea and estuary and take the chance to talk about what we have achieved.

12.00 - 1.00pm
Then we head up to the Botanical Gardens close by, for the next session. We'll learn a few of the more important Tai Chi moves, see how they relate to the rest of our lives & stitch them together in a small and memorable sequence.

1.00pm - Finish
The rest of the day is yours to explore: Stroll back to Ness Hotel and the car park, or stay in the village/head back over to Teignmouth where you can grab some lunch.

Hi. My name is Paul and I've taught classes & workshops in Tai Chi for over 25 years. I've written a series of books on Tai Chi and I now run an online Tai Chi School under the name of the teapotmOnk. Although born British, I've lived and worked abroad for a considerable time, and now reside between the beautiful Devon coast and the South of Spain. Tai Chi teaches that it's important to connect with your environment, whether you live there or are just visiting. With my knowledge of the local area and my years of teaching I offer a way to experience the beauty of the area through the grounding and exhilarating practice of this beautiful art.
