What you'll do

I will teach you to take a colectivo, a form of a taxi Peruvians take, from av. Arequipa (next to Kennedy Park) to av. Javier Prado. From there we will walk 1 block to take another colectivo, all the way to the District of Ceres, called "Ate". Once there, we will walk our way to the market of Ceres, which is one block from where the colectivo drops us off. I will show you the market for 30 minutes and how the locals do their daily shopping and bargains on the market. Next, we will walk to Plaza Vea, a grocery store one block away from the market. Here we will take the mototaxi; a common form of urban transport in Peru, similar to a tuktuk or rickshaw, that will bring us to Santa Maria (you might bring sunglasses to protect your eyes from the dust). When we arrive at the station of Santa Maria, once again we take a mototaxi, all the way up the shantytown of Santa Maria, where we can see all of Ate, La Molina and Miraflores (different districts of Lima). We will spend some time walking and talking to locals that live in the small shanty town. Once we are done, you can either decide to go eat lunch at the market of Ceres, or we make our way back to Miraflores.
